Dirk Hordorff was the former vice-president of the German Tennis Federation and an influential name in world Tennis
Dirk Hordorff, the Vice President of the German Tennis Association, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 67 due to a prolonged battle with a serious heart condition. Recently, he underwent a complex operation, but unfortunately, he never fully recuperated.
Prior to his passing, Hordorff stepped down from his role as DTB Vice President in March, following allegations of abuse. Fourteen players had come forward with accusations against him, which he vehemently denied, claiming them to be “simply untrue.”
Despite his firm denial of the allegations from the beginning, Hordorff decided to resign from his role as Vice-President of the German Tennis Federation in late March. He asserted that the investigation into the accusations had been concluded. Although the Federation’s investigation did not substantiate the claims against him, they emphasized their strong condemnation of any form of assault or unethical conduct. Toward the end of his tenure, Hordorff faced health challenges, leading to occasional absences from work.
