Top seed Bianca Andreescu takes on 5th seed Marta Kostyuk in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Thailand Open on Friday.

The Canadian tennis pro is yet to drop a set in the two matches she played in the Thailand Open. In the round of 32, she easily got past world No. 104 Harriet Dart in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, converting 6 out of 8 break points.
Andreescu followed it up with a convincing win in the first set of the round of 16 against Anastasia Zakharova. The second set was a tight affair as Zakharova gave a good account of herself. However, the 22-year-old Andreescu held her nerves to come through. The match ended 6-2, 7-5 in favor of the 2019 US Open champion.
Marta Kostyuk
The 20-year-old has reached the quarterfinals of a tournament for the second time this season. She made it to the quarterfinals of the Adelaide International 1 where she was ousted by top seed Ons Jabeur. Here she faces another top seed in the quarterfinals.
The Ukrainian youngster started with a hard-fought win against Liang En-shuo in the round of 32. After dropping the first set, Kostyuk bounced back outstandingly to outplay the Taiwanese qualifier in the second and third sets. The match ended 6-7 (7-9), 6-3, 6-0 in favor of Kostyuk. She went on to face Japanese veteran Nao Hibino in the round of 16. Kostyuk had a win percentage of 82 on the first serve but also committed 7 double faults. The match eventually ended in straight sets 6-3, 7-6 (9-7) as Kostyuk advanced to the quarterfinals.
