Portland Trail Blazers had some good news finally as CJ McCollum makes a healthy and strong return to NBA
The Portland Trail Blazers were struggling a bit, with their two main stars sidelined due to injury. Damian Lillard who underwent surgery, but will still be out of action, but CJ McCollum made his early return and proved instrumental for the team.
McCollum was out since 4th Dec 2021 after suffering a collapsed lung. The Portland team declared that McCollum will be out indefinitely out, but he made his return just after 2 weeks. He played a good 28 minutes against the Magic and scored 16 points.
The TrailBlazer franchise was ecstatic to have their star player back.
His on-court presence increased from the next game onwards as he returned to his career average of 32 minutes. He was equally productive and played a huge role in the wins. The Blazers are 3-1 since McCollum returned and now 10th in the Western Conference. They defeated the Celtics and Raptors in that run, which is a perfect morale booster for the team.

McCollum suffered a collapse lung issue, which raised uncertainty over his basketball career. But he made a surprise return and the Blazers staff took care of their prized player. He was given extra attention in pregames and training routine, just to make him available for the NBA season.
On the family end, CJ welcomed his first child Jacobi James into the world, while he was with family during the “injury period”. He said he was in touch with team head coach Chauncey Billups and was eager to resume playing again.
With Damian Lillard still out of action, having CJ McCollum back will be a massive bonus for the young team. There was speculation about possible trades for the Blazers around Trade deadline, but right now team and management seem focused on games, to get them to the postseason.
Portland Trail Blazers will host Minnesota Timberwolves next on 25th Jan 2022.
