Ten years had passed since Dexter was cancelled on Showtime when New Blood made its debut to an overwhelming response from viewers. It quickly rose to become their highest-rated series; but after its controversial finale left many wanting more. It now appears that New Blood may return for a second season.

It seems likely that Season Two will focus on Harrison Morgan, Dexter Morgan’s son who was killed at the end of New Blood. Harrison struggles to control his homicidal instincts in order to remain employed at Miami Metro and maintain his job there. He will likely partner up with senior detective Maria Hernandez who must face her own internal struggles as they both search for answers in her past and face their present.

Michael C. Hall (Michael on Dexter), Liev Schreiber (Showtime’s The Affair) and Kimberley Nixon (Line of Duty). Also featured among the series regulars are British actress Aiysha Hart who previously appeared in Fresh Meat and Critical as DS Sam Railstone’s girlfriend/colleague DS Steve Arnott.

In its sixth season, Dexter will feature both returning actors and an array of fresh newcomers. Aside from Hart, such newcomers include Angela Bishop (Dexter’s love interest); Aiysha Jones (Leah Clearwater from Twilight); and Scott Reynolds (Mando from Westworld). Jones has made numerous television appearances; she appeared as part of Twilight as Leah Clearwater while Jones has had appearances on Westworld and Cold Pursuit among many others.
