Find out everything you need to know about the AEW stable The Gunn Club
In the modern wrestling era, we don’t come across many professional wrestling stables like that of The Gunn Club. This stable is unlike any other professional wrestling stable presently but somewhat resembles the WWE stable ‘The Bloodline’. The Gunn Club are also bonded by blood but unlike the Bloodline, they are not cousins.
The stable consists of three members, a father and his two sons. The leader of this stable is Billy Gunn, a former WWE star and a true veteran of the professional wrestling world. Gunn made his pro wrestling debut in 1985 and still going strong. The veteran wrestler is popularly known for being a member of the legendary stable D-generation X. The Gunn Club initially started with two members, Gunn and his son Austin Gunn.
Austin, unlike his father, has not wrestled for different promotions. His pro wrestling debut came in 2019 with Ring of Honor. Just a year later, he went on to join AEW. Gunn’s other son Colten found his way rather easily to AEW. Colten’s pro wrestling debut came in AEW, before this he didn’t wrestle for any promotion.
When did The Gunn Club made their debut on AEW?
The Gunn Club was formed over time, initially what started as a two-member duo turned out to be a full family affair after months. Gunn was hired as a trainer at AEW, however, he ended up getting back in the ring. When it was announced in 2020 that Austin was joining AEW, it was clear that the promotion is planning to tie him up with his father.
His debut came in January 2020, when he had his first match at AEW along with his father on AEW Dark. This marked the debut of The Gunn Club, sadly enough, Austin was injured in his first match and ended up being absent for almost 11 months.
By the time Austin returned to the AEW, Gunn’s other son Colten had already made his first appearance on AEW. However, he was yet to make his in-ring debut. Colten made his in-ring debut on 11th November 2020 along with Austin and Gunn to finally put together the last piece of the puzzle to form the stable The Gunn Club as we see it today.
Since then they have been making appearances, however, they are not very constant. They last fought on the August 25th 2021 episode of AEW Dynamite against The Factor and walked away with a victory. It is worth noting that their father Billy Gunn is 58 years old and is most definitely in the final stages of his career. It is safe to say that we won’t see him wrestling along with his sons for much longer.
