Extreme Rules was done and dusted and WWE had some interesting takes on this week’s Raw
WWE Raw had to continue some of the storylines from Extreme Rules 2020. Seth Rollins vs Rey Mysterio in the Eye for an Eye fight was obviously going to be looked into.
The other big Raw deals from Extreme Rules were the madness for the women’s title and how Drew McIntyre defeated Dolph Ziggler despite the odds being against him.
Raw also saw a stable getting stronger and here are the hits and misses from the WWE show.
We had touched upon this in last week’s piece but WWE seems to be interested in this storyline. Ruby Riott took on Peyton Royce and finally got the win. While she as emotional after getting a win, this rivalry just isn’t doing it.
They put in Bianca Belair too last week, but this just isn’t clicking at all.
McIntyre was begged by Ziggler this week as the Show Off wants another shot at the title. While McIntyre should be looking at other rivals, he accepted this clash but he would be choosing the stipulation.
This could end Ziggler’s chances of getting the title from McIntyre but it makes no sense. The Scot has been incredible since winning the title and he should be testing himself against someone else. Ziggler is a great heel but McIntyre needs to move on after he beat the Show Off with Ziggler having the stipulations on his side.
Stephanie McMahon had to come out and explain that Sasha Banks wasn’t the champion but she would get another crack at Asuka’s Raw women’s title.
That would have been fine had Banks and Bayley not done what they did at Extreme Rules. They basically stole the belt and the Boss shouldn’t have gotten another shot after she took the belt away from Asuka.
The booking makes sense since Asuka vs Banks has been incredible but ideally, the Boss and Bayley should have been punished for their antics at Extreme Rules.
Speaking of Extreme Rules, Kairi Sane was also involved in Asuka’s clash and she got a crack at Bayley on Raw.
While Sane has confirmed she is keen to return to Japan, she has been on a roll since her return to WWE. She has looked great and has put on some of her best WWE matches over the past month.
She got the win over Bayley and hopefully, she gets more time to shine before going away.
The Street Profits seem set to defend their titles against Andrade and Angel Garza sooner or later. The two tag teams met this week too but there was a bit of a surprise.
Instead of Andrade and Garza of doing something dastardly, it were the Profits who attacked their rivals before the match.
The clash was a good one too, however, it was great seeing the Profits take a different route rather than being the faces all the time.
MVP and Bobby Lashley have been looking at getting a new partner into their stable. They failed to land Apollo Crews, Cedric Alexander and Ricochet in but they might have picked up the best of the lot.
Shelton Benjamin won the 24/7 title from R-Truth and teamed up with MVP and Lashley. They are called the Hurt Business now, and could dominate Raw.
Rollins might have defeated Mysterio in a gruesome way but he had no remorse after the act. He came out on Raw and wasn’t apologetic for his actions and instead blamed the WWE Universe for all this.
However, he continued his devious ways on Raw as he faced off against Aleister Black. Murphy was also with Rollins as the pair attacked Black after their clash.
Black was left with a horrific arm injury while Rollins basked in his glory after the attack.
