Know everything you need to know about the beef between The Rock and Vin Diesel
The former Fast and Furious duo have a long brewing feud since 2016. The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson first appeared in the Fast and Furious franchise in 2011 with the Fast Five. What seemed to be an explosive duo on screen turned out to explosive off screen too, but for the worse.
In 2021, the beef seemed to have faded away, however, it wasn’t the case. Earlier in June this year, the feud was reignited when Diesel stated in an interview that he would give ‘tough love’ to The Rock in order to bring out the best from his and that it was really hard to do so.
This did not sit well with The Rock who publicly announced that he will not be doing any Fast franchise movies in the future. This was the tipping point of their feud. Now, let’s rewind the clock and take a look at from where it all started.
The feud between the two mega stars became public when The Rock made a Instagram post in 2016, in which he lashed out at someone from the crew without naming them. The post was later deleted, however, the caption read:
“Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken shit to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses.”
Soon after this post was made, the speculations of The Rock referring to Diesel sparked up. It was later revealed that the two had their differences from the start and kept it to the side in an attempt to act as professionals. However, it was too much too handle for both of them and their philosophies were far away from the understanding of each other.
Further clarification on The Rock hinting at Diesel was made when the former WWE superstar thanked almost everyone from the Fast and Furious crew on his Instagram but left out, you guessed it, Diesel.
After the news started to break out, the cast and crew of the Fast franchise tried to give their beef a spin off to ‘a healthy debate’ and also gave reference to the differences between two brothers. However, it was not the case at all.
In 2018, The Rock did an interview with the Rolling Stone where he further talked about his differences with the producer of the Fast franchise. The Rock said:
“Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer. And what I came to realize is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies. On how we approach moviemaking and collaborating. It took me some time, but I’m grateful for that clarity. Whether we work together again or not.”
The Rock revealed that he had a face to face confrontation with Diesel in his trailer. He added that they have a difference in how they approach the art of moviemaking and they cannot come on to the same page because of it.
The two also gave multiple tries of working things out among themselves, however, never succeeded. It is now almost set in stone that the two will not appear in the same movie ever again. Until and unless something drastically shifts between The Rock and Diesel.
