Theo found his love for basketball at a very young age and not only that, he was a born superstar. He began his basketball career with the French sports institute INSEP and later joined ASVEL’s youth team at the age of 16. He quickly made a name for himself by becoming the youngest LNB All-Star in history and winning the LNB Pro A Best Young Player award the following year.
He played a key role in ASVEL’s Pro A and French Cup victories, earning the French Cup Final MVP award. Maledon also had success on the international stage, winning a gold medal with France at the 2016 FIBA U16 European Championship and a silver medal at the 2018 FIBA Under-17 World Cup, and has also represented the senior national team.
His NBA debut came in 2020 with the Thunders, where he was initially picked by the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2020 NBA draft, where he was the overall 34th pick. Later the 76ers traded him to the Thunders and he played at Oklahoma for two years in 2022.
