Premier League Opinion: 2 PL destinations for Juventus’ Juan Cuadrado
According to a recent report from The Sun, former Chelsea star Juan Cuadrado is being linked with a potential move back to the Premier League. Mid-table clubs West Ham United and Watford said to be keen on the Colombian speedster’s services.
Formerly a player at Stamford Bridge, the 30-year-old has been at Juventus for a while now. Over the course of the last couple of seasons, he has gradually been eased out of the side to the point where he wasn’t even included in their team for the latter stages of the Champion League.
A former product of the Independiente Medellin academy, it was at Serie A club Udinese Calcio that he got his first real break as a player. Since making the switch to Italy in 2009, the Colombian spent a couple of loan spells before eventually being sold to Fiorentina in the summer of 2012.
It was in the violet Fiorentina kits that he really made a name for himself by putting in some swashbuckling displays against some of the biggest teams in the league. His pace and dribbling ability made him near impossible to defend against while he also showcased excellent shooting from outside the box as well.
He impressed so much during his spell for Fiorentina that he was signed by Chelsea as part of a big-money move. While there was huge potential on paper, on the pitch, Cuadrado struggled to have any sort of impact in England and after spending just half a season in West London, he was shipped back out to Juventus on loan.
After a couple of loan spells in Turin, he was signed permanently by the Old Lady in the summer of 2017 since which he played multiple starring roles for his side. This season though, he has struggled with form and his figures, which read 1 goals and 2 assists from 14 appearances, is a sight for sore eyes as well.
Here are the two clubs who said to be very keen on bringing the talented Colombian back to the Premier League:
Watford
Javi Gracia’s men have looked quite heavily short on personnel at times this season and he’s even had to resort to pushing midfielders into
While the transitions of players like Gerard Deulofeu has gone well, the addition of a quality winger like Juan Cuadrado to partner Roberto Pereyra on the flanks would be a massive boost to their league ambitions.
West Ham
Considering the massive amount of money that was spent by West Ham at the start of the season, making an expensive transfer for the services for Juan Cuadrado seems unlikely.

With that said, the injuries suffered by some of their players have come at terrible times and that’s why their season seemingly fell apart. The acquisition of Cuadrado would be a statement of intent from the Hammers, if they’re able to pull it off.
