According to a report from Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, Tottenham and Arsenal are set to go head to head for AC Milan star, Suso.
Suso, 25, has developed into one of Serie A’s most creative stars over the past couple of years. Since joining AC Milan from Liverpool back in January 2015, he has scored 23 goals and made 35 assists in 135 appearances.
The Spanish winger has had another solid season for the Italian giants, scoring 7 and assisting 10 others in the league this season. Interestingly for other clubs, the report claims Suso has a release clause of £33 million.
Keeping that in mind, Tottenham should beat their north London rivals Arsenal to Suso’s signature this summer.
Having not signed a player in the last two transfer windows, it is pretty clear that the Tottenham squad lacks depth in each position. For that reason, they have not been able to compete in multiple competitions, despite having such a fantastic starting XI.
Things need to change soon and this summer itself, if Mauricio Pochettino wants to realistically challenge the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool for the title next season. Hence, they need quality backup in their squad, especially in the attacking areas.
As per Jaime Astrain of El Chiringuito, the Champions League final against Liverpool will be Christian Eriksen’s last game for Tottenham before he makes a move to Real Madrid. Eriksen is set to enter the final year of his contract at Spurs and has so far refused to commit to a new deal.
The Denmark international joined Tottenham from Ajax in 2013 and has established himself as one of the world’s best creative midfielders during his stay in north London. If Eriksen is to depart, replacing him certainly won’t be easy for Pochettino and co. as few are capable of matching what the Dane does.
Suso will not be deemed as a direct replacement for Eriksen but he’ll definitely bring in pace and width as well as a touch of flair to the Spurs attack. He is a technically gifted attacker that is a great dribbler and the Spaniard also has an eye for goal. The former Liverpool man can play on either wing or in the hole, just like Eriksen.

The left-footed ace is also an expert set-piece taker, and his pace and direct running would make him a great asset to have during counter-attacks as well for Spurs.
Suso’s previous spell with Liverpool suggests he would be a slight risk, but he has grown leaps and bounds in the Serie A and could take Tottenham to a different level.
