According to a recent report by Calcio Mercato English, Napoli’s Albanian international full-back Elseid Hysaj is being linked with a move to the Premier League this summer with a number of top clubs said to be quite keen on his signature. It has been suggested that Hysaj’s time as a Napoli player is drawing to a close and his planned departure from Naples will trigger interest from many of the right-back’s admirers.
Formerly a product of the Empoli youth system, the Albanian rose to prominence at his boyhood club before earning himself a transfer to one of the Serie A’s biggest clubs in Napoli in the summer of 2015. His development since making the switch has been at an alarming pace and he has certainly grown into one of the most dependable right-backs in world football.
Standing at over 6ft tall, Hysaj is a strong full-back who isn’t afraid to use his body to his advantage. His ability to read the opposition’s intended pass has made one of Napoli’s most pivotal players over the past few years. His driving runs down the flank added to the fact that he also delivers a mean cross, means that he would certainly fit the bill for many of the Premier League suitors.
With his exit from Napoli now just a matter of time, it has been claimed that both Chelsea and Manchester United are keen on signing the Albanian this summer. Still only 25, he has a massive future ahead of him and if his performances for Napoli over the last few seasons in anything to go by, he will certainly be a pretty big hit in the Premier League.
Considering that Chelsea still have to deal with their impending transfer ban, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United side are said to be in the driving seat for the youngster’s signature. The Blues have a transfer ban to worry about before even thinking about any summer acquisitions. Considering that they are able to work a way around the situation, bringing in Hysaj to try and compete with skipper Cesar Azpilicueta should become a priority.
