Daniel Bachman is a former Austrian youth international goalkeeper who has an extremely diverse youth career that saw him switch between more than 5 clubs before eventually finding a place in the first-team at Stoke City in the English game.
Having spread out his entire youth career over a multitude of small Austrian clubs, he was eventually brought to England and drafted into the Stoke City U18s back in 2011. He worked his way up the ladder at Stoke and even earned himself a first-team contract within 3 years of his arrival from Austria.
Although he was in the Stoke ranks, his first-team opportunities were limited and this motivated him to try and explore loan options at lower league clubs where he would be guaranteed first-team football. He had stints at Wrexham and Bury in England as well as Ross County in Scotland.
He left Stoke City in the summer of 2016 having never made an appearance for the English club and was signed up on a free transfer by high-flying Premier League league club Watford who brought him in very much as the back-up goalkeeper.
After a year at Watford, where yet again, he made no appearances, he was eventually loaned out to Kilmarnock and after all the years of difficulties and barriers, this season, he has really come to the fore while playing for the Scottish Premiership giants.
He has made 19 appearances for Killie in the league this campaign and has only conceded 16 goals. At a rate of less than a goal per game, Bachmann has impressed quite heavily since making the switch to the Scottish club.
He has also managed to keep a very impressive 9 clean sheets which adds up to almost half of the games that he has been involved in this campaign. His loan contract at Killie ends at the end of the season and whether or not he has a future at Watford is still up for debate.
According to a report from The Scotsman, Rangers are keen on bringing the flexible Austrian shot-stopper to the Ibrox as they look to find a dependable long-term replacement for legendary returnee Allan McGregor who is now 37-years-old.
Wes Foderingham is the other option at Steven Gerrard’s disposal but he has proven time and again that he isn’t capable of holding down the number one role at a club as big as Glasgow Rangers. This situation calls for a new goalkeeper signing and Bachmann can be the perfect man for the Gers.

Still only 24 and boasting some of the best goalkeeping numbers in the league, Bachmann has all the potential to be an ideal long-term successor to Allan McGregor who has been a monster between the sticks over the years and Steven Gerrard must get him from Watford at the end of the season.
