Three summer arrivals who have taken the Premier League by storm

The new Premier League season has been off to a great start. Although we are just four games into the new term, there have been several ups and downs already. A number of clubs have worked wonders but few have also struggled to make an impact.

The summer transfer window was quite an interesting period as well. Clubs across England scrambled and scurried to get their deals completed on time – barring Tottenham Hotspur, of course. Most of the clubs got the players they wanted but how have the new signings fared so far?

Here are three new signings who have outshone their contemporaries in the Premier League so far.

Matteo Guendouzi – Arsenal

Some of the most experienced players often find it tough to settle into the demanding English top-flight. But at the age of 19, Matteo Guendouzi already looks like a seasoned Premier League player.

The £7million signing has slotted into the defensive midfield role for Arsenal and has started all four games in Unai Emery’s new-look side.

His defensive contributions are incredible since he can disrupt opponent attacks in a jiffy and recycle the ball almost instantaneously. If he continues to excel at this rate, Guendouzi could go on to become a future star.

Rui Patricio – Wolverhampton Wanderers

At the age of 30, Rui Patricio is at his peak and has been a key part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad. His shot-stopping abilities need no introduction but he has effectively enhanced his reputation in the English top-flight.

Wolves have started the season on a strong note but their points tally would have read differently in Patricio’s absence. During their hard-fought draw against Manchester City, the goalkeeper denied Raheem Sterling to secure a point.

And in the club’s 1-0 victory against West Ham United, Patricio made a string of impressive saves. Ultimately, Adama Traore’s last-minute goal bagged three points but without Patricio, things could have been a lot different for the newly-promoted outfit.

Jean Michael Seri – Fulham

The fact that Fulham signed Seri was rather surprising over the summer. However, the powerful midfielder’s performances thus far are certainly not surprising.

Seri displayed his quality with OGC Nice and he has carried his excellent form to Craven Cottage as well. With one goal and an assist to his name in four games, the midfielder has been a key player for the west London outfit.
Going forward, he should be instrumental to most of their successes in the top-flight.
