Throwback to when Steve Kerr lauded Jurgen Klopp’s “f***ing giants” as Warriors coach meets Mohammad Salah

Legendary NBA ex-player and current coach Steve Kerr was recently spotted at the training facility of Liverpool Football Club.

The basketball legend was spotted across the Atlantic at the Melwood Training Centre used as a training facility for Liverpool Football Club, as he was seen interacting with Liverpool stars Mohammad Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The nine-time NBA champion who won five titles as a player along with four as a manager is one of the iconic figures in NBA history, and it was a crossover of enormous magnitude to see Kerr deep in conversation with three of the centerpieces of Liverpool Football Club.

On a recent tweet by Liverpool forward Salah accompanied with the caption “What a basketball legend!”, Kerr was seen having a chat with the Liverpool trio a picture that ignited memories of Kerr referring to the Premier League club in one of his post-match press conferences.

Kerr has always been a fan of the club for as long as we can remember, mentioning the club and certain players on social media and interviews.

However, the picture of him at Melwood struck back memories of a particular excerpt Kerr delivered in 2020.

Speaking to the press after an NBA Play-Offs game in 2020, Kerr brought up the German football coach – particularly one of his famous quotes.

Kerr was likely referring to Liverpool’s incredible comeback victory over Barcelona in the 2019 UEFA Champions League semi-finals, when he quoted Klopp: “the young kids in Liverpool are probably asleep by now, so I’m just gonna say it – our boys are f***ing giants.”

Kerr went on to say that “he knows how it feels” considering the Warriors also pulled off a similar comeback, and also added a note of apology for swearing in front of his mother who was probably watching on giving us a great piece of sports television for everyone involved, much like the man he was referring to usually does.
