UFC 238 saw some great fights with a few results having a huge impact on the promotion
UFC 238 was held at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois and featured a couple of clashes for belts.
This was one of the more stacked UFC events with three quality clashes on the main card itself.
Henry Cejudo, Valentina Shevchenko, Jessica Eye, Donald Cerrone and Tony Ferguson were all in action in the event.
The preliminary card and early preliminary card also had some interesting clashes, but all eyes were on the main card.
Kaitlyn Chookagian defeated Joanna Calderwood after three rounds in a Women’s Flyweight division clash.
Eddie Wineland won his clash against Grigory Popov in the Bantamweight division before Darren Stewart did the same against Bevon Lewis in the Middleweight division.
Xiaonan Yan beat rising star Angela Hill won her Women’s Strawweight clash too.
Calvin Kattar beat Ricardo Lamas in their Featherweight clash after a knockout in the first round itself.
Alexa Grasso defeated Karolina Kowalkiewicz in her Women’s Strawweight clash while Aljamain Sterling beat Pedro Munhoz in a Bantamweight clash.
Tatiana Suarez defeated Nina Ansaroff in the final preliminary card even in their Women’s Strawweight division.
Blagoy Ivanov and Tai Tuivasa put on quite a show in their Heavyweight bout as the pair threw punches at each other for 15 minutes.
It was Ivanov that came up with the win but there was more to come in this card. Petr Yan neat Jimmie Rivera in their Bantamweight clash after going the entire 15-minute distance.
The next clash saw Ferguson face off against Cerrone. Ferguson got the better of Cerrone as the doctor had to stop the fight in the second round.
Ferguson’s punches had lead to Cerrone’s face swelling up, and the Cowboy was unable to see as his eyes had almost closed.
Shevchenko then defended her Flyweight title against Eye, and the match was also ended up a KO in the second round.
That came via an incredible head-kick after just 26 seconds of the second round, and Shevchenko kept hold of her title with a dominant display.
Henry Cejudo faced Marion Moraes for the vacant Bantamweight title. Cejudo was already holding the Flyweight title, and became a two-division champion.
Moraes actually started the fight better than Cejudo, but the American overcame the early flurry of punches and won his second belt in the UFC.
