Tina Gordon retired from racing in 2005 after being released from Jay Robinson Racing and now runs Tina’s Dream Ranch, a therapeutic camp for disabled children and adults in Cedar Bluff, Alabama. The former stock car driver who competed in ARCA, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and Craftsman Truck Series between 2001 and 2005 shifted her focus to helping others through her nonprofit organization.
Tina Gordon: From Insurance Agent to NASCAR Driver
Born March 14, 1969 in Cedar Bluff, Alabama, Gordon sold her insurance agency in 1998 to pursue racing full time after winning all five powder puff races she entered at Green Valley Speedway in her husband Gary’s short track car. She finished 10th in points during her 1997 rookie season at Thunder Mountain Speedway, posting 11 top tens in 18 starts.
Her best NASCAR moment came at the 2003 Talladega Xfinity Series race where she started 38th, avoided a massive lap four pileup that damaged or destroyed all but 12 cars, and finished 10th driving the No. 22 Bost Motorsports Chevrolet. She also qualified fifth in her 2001 ARCA debut at Talladega with a speed of 182.947 mph and finished 10th.
Tina Gordon NASCAR: Life After Racing
Gordon continued appearing in Sticks ‘N’ Stuff furniture chain commercials after retiring, captioned as “NASCAR driver” despite no longer competing. She founded Tina’s Dream Ranch with her husband Gary, providing therapeutic programs for people with disabilities. In early 2008, she announced her candidacy for the Cherokee County, Alabama Commission post for District 3.
Gordon lives in Cedar Bluff with her husband and son. She is not related to Jeff Gordon or Robby Gordon despite sharing the same last name, a common misconception during her racing career.
