TJ Dillashaw made his MMA debut on the 26th of March in 2010 in a promotion called King of the Cage. That very same year he fought three more times, and was already 4-0 up in his MMA career.
He then lost to UFC vet John Dodson on his UFC debut at UFC Ultimate Fighter: Team Bisping vs Team Miller Finale.
Dillashaw then made his promotional debut against Walel Watson on the 15th of February in 2012. He went on a four-fight win streak, before being stopped by Raphael Assuncao via. split decision in October 2013.
Dillashaw once again went on a four-fight win streak following his loss to Assuncao, and also won the UFC bantamweight championship en-route the four-fight win streak. He beat Renan Barao to win the title.
Dillashaw defended his belt twice before going down to Dominic Cruz in a closely contested match, that saw him lose via. split decision (at UFC Fight Night: Dillashaw vs Cruz) in 2016.

Following a ban, Dillashaw came back 2 and a half years later and took on the dangerous Cory Sandhagen in the main event of UFC Vegas 32. Dillashaw earned a split-decision victory.

Following his loss to Henry Cejudo in January 2019, Dillashaw failed a drug test. He tested positive for erythropoietin (EPO). Dillashaw was banned for a whopping 2 years by the USADA. The champ was eligible to return only on the 19th of January, 2021.
He also relinquished his bantamweight title during the time he served the ban.
