Dreamer started his wrestling journey with the IWCCW under the name T.D. Madison, where he held the title of Tag-Team Championship three times.
Tommy joined the Eastern Championship Wrestling (ECW) in October 1993 at the NWA Bloodfest. He became the first person in wrestling history to kick out the pin from Superfly Splash of Jimmy Snuka.
T.D. Stayed with ECW until the very end before it folded in 2001, defeating C.W Anderson in an I Quit Match at Guilty as Charged, which was the final pay-per-view of ECW
Tommy made his WWF (now WWE) debut on July 9, 2001, as a member of the ECW Alliance during the Invasion Angle. He became a 17-time Hardcore Champion in WWE.
In 2005, Dreamer became a significant part of the ECW One Night Stand, which was a reunion show pay-per-view held under the banner of WWE.
Dreamer announced in 2009 that if he fails to win the ECW Championship by June 6, when his WWE contract was about to expire, he will no longer wrestle ECW.
At Extreme Rules, Dreamer defeated Jack Swager in a hardcore tripled threat match and won his second ECW Championship after almost a decade, making him the only man to hold the belt in the original ECW and in the ECW brand of WWE.
Dreamer made a farewell speech in which he thanked the fans before exiting the ring with his two daughters following his release from WWE after eight years.
Tommy went on to play for Total Impact Wrestling and opened his own wrestling promotion, House of Hardcore, a former ECW wrestling school.
