At 6 feet and 11 inches, Ivo Karlovic and Reilly Opelka share the record for the tallest ATP tennis players

Being an individual sport, tennis is one of the most physically demanding games around the globe. In most sports, an athlete’s physical attributes come as a major advantage and it is no different in tennis.

One such characteristic which has always come to the benefit of players, especially in tennis has been height.

It is most common to see players with height having a better and powerful serve than their shorter counterparts which have always come to their benefit during games.

Diego Schwartzman is one tennis player that is questioned regarding his height. The Argentine is just 1.7m, which doesn’t qualify him to be in the list of the tallest tennis players.

However, there are others that easily clear Schwartzman and here are the top-5 current tallest tennis players on the ATP circuit.

1. Ivo Karlovic/Reilly Opelka (6 feet 11 inches)

This a spot that is held jointly by two players in the ATP circuit at the moment. Croatian Karlovic, standing at 211 cm is one of the tallest around in the game and holds several service records due to his height advantage.

Aged 40, Karlovic was once considered one of the best serves on tour during his prime and has 8 titles to his name. Unlike his counterpart, Opelka is a young American, who at the moment is making giant strides in the game.

He has 2 career titles to his name and is a former junior Wimbledon singles champion (2015). He is also a big server like Karlovic and consistently clocks 140 mph.

Another freakishly tall American, Isner holds the record for playing in the longest ever match in professional tennis (11 hours and five minutes of play spread over three days to beat Nicolas Mahut in Wimbledon 2010).
