Tottenham player ratings vs PSV Eindhoven: Who impressed?
Harry Kane’s brace late in the game gave Tottenham their first win in the Champions League this season after Luuk de Jong’s header had put the visitors in the lead just two minutes from kick-off.
The Lilywhites had as many as ten shots on goal and was by far the better team, only to be denied on several occasions by goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet.
The victory keeps Spurs’ Champions League campaign just afloat with the other game in Group B between Inter Milna and Barcelona ending in a 1-1 draw.
However, it will be an uphill battle for the Mauricio Pochettino’s men to secure a spot in the knockout stages as they will have to win both their remaining games against Barcelona and Inter Milan in the coming weeks.

1. Paulo Gazzaniga (7.5/10)
Put in a brilliant shift between the sticks. Made a good save in from a header in the second half and did well to keep out Malen’s effort in the 82nd minute.
2. Serge Aurier (6/10)
Looked solid at the back and made some good challenges. Embarked on a few powerful runs down the right but the end product wasn’t satisfactory.
3. Toby Alderweireld (6.5/10)
Outjumped by Luuk de Jong for the opener but recovered superbly to find Dele Alli with a perfect long-ball. Made some good blocks in the second half.
4. Davinson Sanchez (8/10)
Arguably the pick of the backline for the Lilywhites. Added that solidity to the backline with his physicality and aerial presence. Did not hesitate to venture forward and came close with a couple of headers.
5. Ben Davies (6.5/10)
Struggled to cope with the pace of Lozano and booked for a late challenge. Wasn’t good with his crossing throughout the game but played an inch-perfect cross to find Harry Kane for the winner.
6. Harry Winks (8/10)
Another fantastic performance by the youngster. He seems to be growing in confidence with each passing game; made some crucial challenges in midfield, comfortable in possession and made some very good passes going up front.
7. Lucas Moura (7.5/10)
Embarked on a powerful run down the left and showed some mesmerizing skills to beat three defenders but his shot was saved by Zoet. Caused the opposition all sorts of problems with his pace and dribbling; not sure why he was subbed off after an hour.
8. Christian Eriksen (6.5/10)
Had a shot saved by the goalkeeper and contributed to the build-up play but lacked sharpness and didn’t have too much of an impact on the proceedings.
9. Dele Alli (6.5/10)
Showed some nice touches in the final third and could have scored, only to be denied by Zoet. Got multiple chances to work the goalkeeper thereafter but lacked the end product.
10. Heung-Min Son (6/10)
Booked for a late challenge on Lozano. Fired a shot just wide of the post, put in the hard yards but wasn’t too good with his passing.

Erik Lamela (6/10)
Showed some elegant touches, raised the tempo of the game and always a threatening presence in the final third.
Fernando Llorente (6.5/10)
His first impactful substitute appearance of the season. Set up Kane for the opener with a lovely touch and fired a header straight at the goalkeeper.
