According to the Express, Juventus are ready to offer Tottenham three players in exchange for Tanguy Ndombele and among those players is Federico Bernardeschi. The winger has shown flashes of brilliance but hasn’t produced the same levels of output he did at Fiorentina.
Federico Bernardeschi, 26, is a product of the Fiorentina youth system. Bernardeschi was promoted to the first-team in 2013 but was sent to Crotone on loan for that season.
He had three promising seasons after returning to his parent club. Juventus came in with an offer for him in 2017 and he made the switch to Turin. In the three seasons at Juventus, he has blown hot and cold.
This transfer has a lot of complications to it. Any deal would involve a swap between players, according to the report. Mourinho is still undecided on whether to keep Ndombele.
Bernardeschi is a quality player, no doubt. He has shown that while playing for Fiorentina, scoring 23 and assisting 12 in 93 games (source – Transfermarkt). His versatility would add spark and unpredictability to the Spurs attack.
It wouldn’t be a bad move on Spurs’ part to bring in Federico Bernardeschi as he is quite a versatile player who can play anywhere across the frontline. This would give Mourinho more options to tinker around. Signing Bernardeschi would add depth.
Spurs should consider this swap deal cautiously as Ndombele has just been at the club for a year and a big amount was spent to bring him.
Nevertheless, Bernardeschi won’t entirely be a bad player to get as a part of an exchange. After all, everyone loves utility players who can fill in at multiple positions, especially a manager like Mourinho, who is a well-renowned tactician.
Considering Ndombele is out of favour at Tottenham right now, a swap deal won’t be a bad idea after all.
