Krejcikova and Siniakova defeated the American duo of Caty McNally and Taylor Townsend in the final after coming back from a set down. The crowd was obviously rooting for McNally and Townsend who began promisingly but the veteran duo gradually took control and eventually ended the match 3-6, 7-5, 6-1.

With this triumph, Krejcikova and Siniakova have completed the career Grand Slam. They previously won the Australian Open in 2022, the French Open in 2018 and 2021, and the Wimbledon in 2018 and 2022.

“I think that the match was very difficult,” Krejcikova said in the press. “I felt like we were just down for a very long time. But I felt we were still in the game and we tried to fight for every single ball. Suddenly the game just started to go on our side.

“As we took the second set, I think from there on we started to be a better team. I’m really, really happy that we won this final Slam for us that we were missing. It sounds amazing that we achieved such amazing things.”
