Triple H claims WWE filled with best wrestlers in women’s division
The Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development for WWE, Triple H claimed that WWE is filled with the best talent in the women’s roster.
This came in the aftermath of Mickie James’ announcing an all-female PPV on NWA.
The Cerebral Assassin spoke about the current women’s roster and the scene around the wrestling circuit. Talking to Inside The Ropes, Triple H nailed his response was quoted saying;
“Haven’t we already done them? It’s a funny thing to me. So, equality is equality. Equality is not, ‘I want my own show’. Equality is not, ‘We have to have our own program’. If I told you that I was making an all men’s program and I didn’t want women on it, it would be criticized. And I’m not saying that’s right or wrong.”
“I do think it’s funny when people go, ‘I want the best in the world regardless of contractual status.’ I’m sorry, from a business person’s standpoint, then why do we have contractual status? Right? It doesn’t make any sense to me. If you want to wrestle the best women in the world, come to the WWE. That’s where they are. If you want to go elsewhere and say that they are…you can. But it is what it is.
The company is currently one of the hottest brands for the women’s division with the likes or Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair and Bayley among others.
WWE Evolution was an all women’s PPV in 2018, with Ronda Rousey and Nikki Bella headlining it. The main card consisted of 7 matches, in different categories. NXT star Toni Storm was the winner of the 2018 Mae Young Classic. All four major titles were also defended in one night.
The event turned out to be a successful one with a good review and ratings, after the WWE Crown Jewel event prevented women from wrestling, according to government rules.
WWE looks like a haven for new women talent while existing talent is improving daily. We can only wait and see what the future holds for the women’s division.
