Predicted Aston Villa line-up to face Derby County in the Championship
Aston Villa picked up an important win against Bolton Wanderers last weekend. Dean Smith has not made the best of starts to his managerial reign at the club. The manager will now turn his attention to this weekend’s big clash against Derby County.
Frank Lampard’s men have been superb of late and are slowly making their way into the top four. The Villans will need to be wary of a number of threats.
Team News
Keinan Davis, Birkir Bjarnason and Harry McKirdy are all doubts and will probably be unavailable for this game. Dean Smith has an otherwise wealthy set of options to deploy against the Rams.
Aston Villa predicted XI
Manager: Dean Smith
Formation: 4-4-1-1
Orjan Nyland (GK)
The goalkeeper kept a clean sheet last week but things won’t be so easy against Derby County.
Alan Hutton (RB)
Hutton’s raids down the flank have been very useful for Dean Smith’s side so far.
Axel Tuanzebe (CB)
The centre-back put in a strong shift against Bolton Wanderers last weekend. He will need to show up for this game as well.
James Chester (CB)
Chester nodded in the second goal against Bolton Wanderers last weekend. He has been in good form.
Neil Taylor (LB)
The Welsh international needs to provide more going forward.
Albert Adomah (RM)
Adomah’s pace and energy should cause all sorts of problems down the flank
Josh McGinn (RCM)
McGinn has been good with his passing but he needs to improve on his work rate.
Conor Hourihane (LCM)
The Irish international has looked in good form over the last two games. He must now maintain this momentum.
Jonathan Kodjia (LM)
The Ivorian has looked lively down the left side over the last few weeks. He will continue for this game as well.
Jack Grealish (CAM)
Scored the opener last week and capped a superb performance. There’s no chance he’ll sit this one out.
