Jan Blachowicz is the UFC Light Heavyweight champion and was ecstatic regarding the birth of his son
UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz has a new member of his family with a newborn son to add.
The 37-year-old shocked the world after he won the Light Heavyweight title by demolishing Dominick Reyes at UFC 253.
This was quite a turnaround for the Pole who was struggling a few years back in the UFC. He lost four out of five fights but a win over Devin Clark changed everything.
A loss to Thiago Santos in 2019 didn’t stop him from getting a title shot. Blachowicz won three fights before his battle against Reyes, and he became one of the oldest UFC champions when he won the belt.
However, the Pole will have another big project on his hands now. He confirmed the birth of his son on social media and thanked his partner, Dorota.
Blachowicz also posted a couple of fun captions regarding the “royal line” and “heir to the throne”.
The next Polish champion?
Blachowicz has often spoken of Polish power and he displayed it in his title bout.
The birth of his son could also be a reason why Blachowicz didn’t fight after picking up the title. He does have a tough battle next with Israel Adesanya, the undefeated UFC Middleweight Champion, wanted a second belt.
It will be interesting to see how that battle goes. Izzy would have to gain a lot of muscle and weight to reach the Light Heavyweight division. However, many believe that Adesanya could get the better of the Pole.
Nevertheless, that is a discussion for another time. Many UFC fighters and commentators were quick to congratulate Blachowicz on becoming a father.
It will be interesting to see if Jan Jr follows the footsteps of his father, and we at Mediareferee also wish the Blachowiczs the best.
