Tyler Cook is an American basketball player for the Salt Lake City Stars of the NBA. He played college basketball for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Tyler scored 17 points in the championship game as a senior, and the duo led the team to a state title. He declared his plans to attend the University of Iowa in 2015.
Cook is one of only nine players in Iowa history to score over 1,300 points and pull down 600 rebounds. He led the team with six double-doubles this season and is one of only 15 players in Iowa history to have at least 15 double-doubles in their careers.
Cook averaged 14.5 points and 7.6 rebounds per game, leading Iowa to the NCAA Tournament as a junior. He inked with an agent after declaring for the NBA draft. However, he went undrafted in the 2019 NBA draft.
Tyler signed a two-way contract with the Nuggets on August 13, 2019. He was later released during training camp on October 16, 2019. On October 19, Tyler was claimed off waivers by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
DetroitPistonOn February 16, 2020, the Oklahoma City Blue announced that they had acquired Cook with a first-round draft pick and a second-round draft pick in the 2020 NBA G League draft from the Canton Charge in exchange for Vincent Edwards and two 2020 first-round draft picks. But this association didn’t last long as Denver Nuggets signed cook to a two-way contract.
On February 24, 2021, Cook was signed to a 10-day contract by the Brooklyn Nets. Then he went on to sign a multi-year contract with Detroit Pistons. On July 31, 2021, Cook was waived by the Pistons.
He was then signed with the Chicago Bulls but that deal was converted into a two-way contract with the Windy City Bulls of the NBA G League. On October 23, 2022, Cook joined the Salt Lake City Stars training camp roster.
