These are all the new Assassins Creed Games. Let’s take a look at each of them in detail.
It’s an opportunity for Ubisoft to come back with a bang since Assassin’s Creed was launched, and do some great things with Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Some of the best open-world games in the last decade have come from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Odyssey, and Origins, but fans also want something different, more focused, and more dynamic.
In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Ubisoft returns to the stealth-action, narrative-driven roots that define Altair and Ezio’s earliest adventures, returning to Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s roots. As the title suggests, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will show Basim’s development in Baghdad before he appears in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla a few decades later.
There are four districts in Baghdad, including the industrial district of Karhk and the lush gardens of the Round City. In contrast to the worlds of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Odyssey, and Origins, Mirage will be much smaller. According to Ubisoft’s artistic director Jean-Luc Sala, Baghdad is a bustling, dense city where residents react to your every move. Additionally, you can go to The Alamut outside of the city, which is where the assassins who laid the groundwork for the Creed lived.
Like in the first two games of the series, parkour will be a huge part of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Your primary means of spatial navigation will be to ascend buildings and cross rooftops in Baghdad’s densely-layered city, an aspect Ubisoft promises will be more enjoyable than ever.
At launch, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be available in three editions. The Standard Edition will cost $50/€50; the Deluxe Edition will cost $60/€60, while the Collector’s Case will be $150/€150, including a 32cm Basim figurine, Baghdad map, exclusive steelbook, and more. You will also get exclusive access to the ’40 Thieves’ side quest, if you get the Assassin’s Creed Mirage pre-order now.
Another on the list of new Assassins Creed games is Assassin’s Creed Hexe that is described by Ubisoft’s Marc-Alexis Cote as one that is “different from previous Assassin’s Creed games.” The trailer begins with ominous music and dead leaves floating from decaying trees, far different from the typically associated Assassin’s Creed trailers. If that’s what it seems at first glance, Assassin’s Creed Hexe might be the darkest installment in the series yet.
Codename Jade will provide the complete Assassin’s Creed gameplay experience to mobile users for the first time. Codename Jade is described as an AAA action-adventure RPG for mobile platforms. Ubisoft’s recent partnership with Tencent involves bringing the gaming behemoth’s IP and unique games to Chinese and global markets through this upcoming title, based in ancient China.
As part of Codename Jade, Assassin’s Creed returns to ancient China. In Assassin’s Creed Chronicles, a side-scrolling, episodic game set during the Ming dynasty, the series briefly visited China. Although this first attempt into China was mediocre, Codename Jade seems to be a far more elaborate version of the original. Codename Jade is said to take place in ancient China, although it is not known for certain. Given the importance of the Great Wall of China which dates back to around 220 B.C.
As part of the On the Horizon section of the Ubisoft Forward Showcase, Codename Jade’s release date has yet to be confirmed. The project is already in development and is reportedly going on for two years, so it could be released before many other potential Assassin’s Creed projects are currently in the works.
At Ubisoft Forward, Ubisoft announced that the series will finally go to feudal Japan. The much-requested historical setting will become a reality, as the next major, mainline AC game will be Assassin’s Creed Codename Red – retaining the RPG systems of Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. Assassin’s Creed Codename Red does not have a release date.
Throughout the trailer, ninjas (or shinobis) were shown perched on rooftops with ninjato short swords in hand, as well as hidden blades. Ubisoft Quebec is leading the development of Codename Red, while Jonothan Dumot is acting as its creative director. Dumot was previously the creative director for AC Odyssey and Immortals Fenyx Rising.
