Dive into gaming nostalgia with Ubisoft Plus classic subscription. Wondering if it’s worth it? Our guide spills the details.
With its Ubisoft+ service, Ubisoft has established itself as a major player in the fast-growing game subscription market, alongside Microsoft, Sony, and EA. But, the industry is changing swiftly, so businesses need to adapt if they want to be competitive. On January 16, 2024, Ubisoft announced some significant modifications to Ubisoft+ as a result.
Ubisoft is merging the previous pricing tiers—Multi-Access and PC Access—into a single bundle called Ubisoft Plus Premium and renaming its monthly subscription service Ubisoft Plus. The new plan costs $17.99 and lets users play games on Xbox, PC, and Amazon Luna.
In addition to having first dibs on new releases (and sometimes early), premium members will also have monthly rewards, exclusive premium editions, and DLC at their disposal. If you currently have a PC Access subscription, you can keep paying the $14.99 monthly charge and keep your current plan in place.
Additionally, Ubisoft Plus Classics, a package devoted to back catalog titles like Watch Dogs: Legion, Fallout 4, Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry 6, and Rainbow Six Siege, is being added. Ubisoft states that it may be obtained on PC for $7.99 per month through the Ubisoft Store and that it is “included for PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium Members.”
According to Tremblay, the games that come with Classics were chosen based on how current Ubisoft+ members behave: “As mentioned earlier, when we look at the results, players are really enjoying and engaging with our back catalog when they subscribe. So, we saw an opportunity to craft a service specifically around said catalog. We think it’s a strong offer at the price point, and the catalog will only grow as we keep adding games to it as time goes on, so players can discover even more of our worlds.”
The problem is that neither AC Mirage nor the standard Ubisoft Plus service are available on the platform; neither is it included in the Classics collection. Therefore, to play Assassin’s Creed Mirage on the PlayStation, you will need to pay. Thus, the response to AC Mirage on Ubisoft Plus is that it is available on PC and Xbox but not PlayStation.
The premium content, including expansions and downloadable content packs (DLC), will no longer be accessible if you terminate your Ubisoft+ membership. Your Ubisoft account and in-game purchases will continue to be connected. You can buy the Gold Edition or higher editions of the game to regain access to your content.
the new classic subscription from Ubisoft Plus is pretty cool, especially if you love old-school games. We checked if it’s worth it, and it turns out, it’s a great deal for fans of classic titles. You get many awesome games that bring back the good old gaming memories. So, if you’re into classics and want many games in one place, go for it! Ubisoft keeps things interesting, making sure both new and old gamers have something to enjoy. It’s a win for those who love timeless games and a bit of gaming history.
