The UFC 250 fight card is taking shape with Fabricio Werdum vs. Alexey Oleynik all but confirmed for the night
UFC 250 is set to feature some mouthwatering clashes as the fight card is set to feature Fabricio Werdum vs. Alexey Oleynik.
Reports have suggested that the former UFC heavyweight champion Werdum will feature at UFC 250 after seeing his suspension from the USADA reduced.
Werdum, 42, is a veteran in the MMA circuit and has won several medals in Jiu-Jitsu competitions all-across the world.
The Brazilian has also fought in PRIDE and Strikeforce and has an MMA record of 23 wins from 32 matches with eight losses and one no-contest.
Oleynik, who is also 42, is a Ukrainian-born Russian and has participated in a staggering 72 MMA fights in his career.
The Russian has picked up an incredible 58 wins and has 13 losses to his name so far. He also has won 46 fights via submissions and won his last bout at UFC 246 against Maurice Green.
Werdum last fought nearly two years ago and it will be interesting to see how things go with him.
Although the pair are over 40, they can put up a great show and UFC 250 could have some other big names on the card too.
Other possible UFC 250 fights
The UFC Bantamweight Championship clash between Henry Cejudo and Jose Aldo could take place but hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Cejudo is the current champion and is a former Olympic gold medallist. The American has 15 wins to his name and has won his last five fights.
Aldo is another UFC veteran and the 33-year-old has 28 wins from his 34 matches but has lost his last two bouts.
Cejudo and Aldo are of the same age but the experience of the challenger, who has fought twice as much as the champion, could be a huge factor in this title battle.
Bethe Correia and Pannie Kianzad is another fight that could be set for the fight card. UFC 250 should also see Augusto Sakai taking on Blagoy Ivanov in a Heavyweight bout.
A Women’s Bantamweight fight between Ketlen Vieira and Marion Reneau is also a possibility.
There should be at least four-five fights for UFC 250 and with the event scheduled in May, the UFC has to quickly confirm the fight card for the show.
