UFC 264 had some big KOs and many stars earned the $75,000 bonus
The main talking point of UFC 264 was Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier. This was the trilogy fight between the pair and a lot of bad blood was brewing between then.
McGregor also brought up Poirier’s wife, Jolie, in all this, and they didn’t even touch gloves in the end.
However, the fight ended in bizarre circumstances with McGregor breaking his ankle. A doctor’s stoppage had to be called for Poirier, but the bad mouthing between the pair continued.
The co-main event saw Gilbert Burns and Stephen Thompson clash and it was the Brazilian who just edged out Wonderboy.
Nevertheless, there were some excellent performances on all the three cards with Sean O’Malley getting an impressive win.
Kris Moutinho turned out to be the sensation at UFC 264 as he kept on getting hit but kept on walking as well.
Many stars were impressed by the UFC debutant and he was one of the lucky few to get the $75,000 bonus.
As mentioned earlier, $75,000 was awarded to the bonus winners, which was more than the normal $50,000 bonus handed out.
Moutinho and O’Malley both got $75,000 each for the performance, and Moutinho deserved that amount for his incredible performance.
Two other fighters got the $75,000 bonus at UFC 264. Tai Tuivasa knocked out Greg Hardy in the first round and celebrated with three shoeys, and well, he deserved a bonus just for that.
The other fighter who got the performance of the night bonus was Dricus Du Plessis as the South African middleweight defeated Trevin Giles.
Fight of the night: Sean O’Malley vs Kris Moutinho
Performance of the night: Dricus Du Plessis and Tai Tuivasa
