With all five main card fighters successfully making weight, UFC 273 is bound to produce some special fights this weekend.
The UFC 273 weighs-in results are in and the key fights have been made official. Only two fighters weren’t able to make weight for this weekend. However, their fights will go forward as planned with those who failed to make weight being fined a small portion of their purse.
The early weigh-ins for UFC 273 took place at the UFC host hotel in Jacksonville, Florida. The official weigh-ins were then followed by the ceremonial weigh-ins for the fans, which took place at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.
UFC 273’s main event will now officially see UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski attempt to defend his crown against ‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung, who is replacing the injured Max Holloway.
The co-main event at the weekend features the UFC bantamweight unification bout, and a grudge fight between Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan. Sterling won the UFC bantamweight title from Yan after the Russian was disqualified for using an illegal knee. While Yan has picked up an interim bantamweight title since then, the former champ will be looking to win back his belt for the second time.
