Khabib Nurmagomedov made weight for UFC 254 but looked a little relieved after the weigh-ins

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje both made their weights for the blockbuster UFC 254 main event at Fight Island.

The pair will battle for the undisputed UFC Lightweight title, and it should be an incredible fight. Khabib comes into this clash undefeated while Gaethje is the interim UFC Lightweight champion.

The pair do respect each other but all that will be thrown out once they enter the Octagon. Making weight is one of the biggest challenges fighters face, and if Khabib or Gaethje missed the 155lbs target, they would be ineligible to win the belt.

Khabib doesn’t necessarily have problems when it comes to weigh-ins but this was a different story. The Russian took down his trunks at the weigh-in and then look relieved when he made the right weight.

This isn’t a side of Khabib many have seen in the past and it got a lot of people talking.

Pressure getting to Khabib or something else?

Khabib being 28-0 and trying to stay unbeaten is one of the big stories in the history of MMA. There must be a ton of pressure on his shoulders but the Russian has never shown any moments of weakness.

This will also be the first fight for Khabib after the passing away of his father, which can take a toll on any person.

The Russian is one of the best in the world and many fans were a little shocked seeing his reaction to all this.

Some claimed this was nothing and maybe the weight cut didn’t go as well as he had planned. However, others believed that Gaethje could get the better of Khabib and this was a sign of how things just aren’t clicking for him.

The UFC world was split regarding all this and here are some of the reactions from Twitter.
