Aleksandar Rakic got back to winning ways after a brilliant display against Anthony Smith
Former UFC Light Heavyweight title challenger Anthony Smith suffered his second loss in as many fights against Aleksandar Rakic at Fight Night.
Smith, who lost his chance at the title against Jon Jones, was looking to bounce back after a heavy defeat against Glover Teixeira.
However, Rakic was the up and coming star in the division and the 28-year-old proved his quality in the Octagon.
Rakic used a ton of his kickboxing skills in this fight too. He was a kickboxer before coming into the MMA scene and unloaded with some ferocious kicks on Smith early on.
Smith, for his part, tried to control the fight by taking Rakic to the corner, but that didn’t work a lot. The American got kicked hard several times throughout the three rounds and it came as no surprise that Rakic won the fight via unanimous decision.
Ready for the title?
While Rakic dominated the fight, he believed he was ready for a title shot. Dominick Reyes and Jan Blachowicz clash for the vacant Light Heavyweight title, and Rakic wanted to be the one to face the champion.

However, there is another big fight in the division with Teixeira taking on Thiago Santos, and the winner of that could face the new champion.
Nevertheless, many believed that Rakic was ready for his next fight against Jiri Prochazka. Prochazka is a former RIZIN Light Heavyweight champion and won his debut fight in the UFC.
The 27-year-old has a 27-3-1 record and is touted as one of the rising stars in the division too. Rakic vs Prochazka would be an incredible bout, and that is what a lot of the fans want.

I hate how these fighters don't know how to make a strategic call out. Texeira Santos winner is getting that fight, call out Rumble or Jiri
