Israel Adesanya opened up on what kind of father he would be for his kids, when the time is right

UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya is one of the biggest MMA stars in the world. The 31-year-old is undefeated in his MMA career and has taken on all comers in his UFC division.

Adesanya will now fight for the UFC Light Heavyweight title next as he seeks gold in a second division.

While a lot has been said about his early life from Africa to New Zealand, not a lot is known about his personal life.

Adesanya has worked hard to keep all this hush but did open up on what the future holds for him and his family.

While speaking to MMA Junkie, Adesanya was asked about his plans outside the Octagon. The Last Stylebender claimed he wanted to be a different kind of father:

“I am ready for anything. When I start a family, I want to be there for my kids. I feel like I want to be a stay at home dad if I am being honest.

“I want to be the coolest dad that just hangs out with his kids all day, takes them to school, playground and just kick it. Have my little buddies all around and hang around with.

“I want to have the time to do that so I don’t want to be, ‘Alright son, alright baby, I am going to see you in three weeks and then talk on the phone’

“I have seen people go through that, I have seen my coaches go through that, seen some of my friends go through that.”

Money not a problem

Adesanya also added that when he would have children, he would dedicate his life to them. The New Zealand-Nigerian star also added that money wouldn’t be an issue as he would set things up.

However, for now, he was just concentrating on his MMA career and doing what he does best in the Octagon, win.

“I want to be there for my kids, want to get everything done and then dedicate my life solely to my kids, my family.

“I already have passive income by then so I don’t have to work really.”

Adesanya also joked that he doesn’t have any kids or alleged kids at the moment, and put bed to some rumours that might have been going around.

The Last Stylebender certainly has his life planned out well and if he keeps on winning, he might never have to work after he retires.

Adesanya is already considered as one of the greatest current MMA stars, but he could retire from this sport undefeated and that would certainly put him in the debate for being the GOAT (greatest of all-time).
