Sean O’Malley has made fun of UFC champion Henry Cejudo in the past
American UFC star Sean O’Malley doesn’t believe it makes a lot of sense for Henry Cejudo to fight him.
O’Malley, called ‘Sugar’ in the Octagon, is undefeated in his professional MMA career and has been making a name on social media too.
The 25-year-old also fights in the Bantamweight division as the champion Cejudo, and the champ was the subject of his latest joke on Instagram.
However, the American was speaking with Ariel Helwani on a recent show. And it was put to him if Cejudo vs O’Malley could happen for the title:
“I don’t think he wants it. I’ve had three fights in the UFC. It’s not a good match-up
“I’m 5’11, he’s 5’2.”
Helwani asked if Cejudo would say no to O’Malley, and the young fighter agreed with that statement:
“Yeah, I have a high level, I have just three fights in the UFC. Haven’t fought anyone that’s necessarily great.
“I believe in my skills and It would be a stupid fight for him since I am not even ranked.”
Training to be the best
The American finished this segment by claiming that he was training to ensure he can take on anyone in the Octagon.
A title shot for O’Malley seems a little early, and it is great he is keeping his feet grounded.
Cejudo has won two division titles in the UFC and is considered as one of the best ever. O’Malley is 11-0 in his professional MMA career but only has fought thrice in the UFC.
His last one was a knockout win over Jose Alberto Quinonez and O’Malley has been training for a fight in July.
