Khabib Nurmagomedov had trained with a bear during his younger days and his father, Abdulmanap, had some weird advice during one session
Khabib Nurmagomedov was watching the latest fights at the UFC Apex centre alongside Dana White.
The Russian made a lot of news when he retired from the UFC recently. That was made official alongside White but The Eagle still got some time to enjoy the battles.
One hilarious moment saw Kevin Holland ask Khabib for some advice during the main event. While Khabib laughed at this, Holland was unable to beat Derek Brunson.
Khabib also participated in an interview with Megan Olivi after the fights. This was a small interview where a few points were spoken off.
Khabib opened up about his training under his father, Abdulmanap. The Russian spoke about his days of wrestling a bear and shared a crazy story from it.
Abdulmanap had trained some of the best in the business and he wanted Khabib to take on all comers.
When Khabib complained that the bear almost bit him, his father told him to bite it back.
Khabib and Abdulmanap were extremely close and this pair dominated the Combat Sambo world before they came to the UFC.
Abdulmanap passed away in 2020 due to Covid-19 issues and that was one reason why The Eagle retired from the sport with a 29-0 record.
While this training story was something hilarious and scary, Khabib is also doing a lot of coaching now.
The Russian still trains regularly but he has taken up a coaching role. Khabib helped Islam Makhachev, his friend, defeat Drew Dober.
The Russian also backed Makhachev as a future champion and several of his cousins will also be fighting in the UFC soon.
Khabib should be in their corners as well and it will be interesting to see how things go. The Eagle is done with the UFC but he has had a great career.
He could become one of the greatest coaches ever too, and hopefully, he doesn’t bring a bear into all this.
