The greatest exponent of the Ezekiel Choke is veteran UFC heavyweight Aleksei Oleinik. The Russian has two wins in the UFC via. Ezekiel Choke, and still remains the only UFC fighter to win via. the Ezekiel Choke.
In a recent video posted by UFC women’s flyweight Ji Yeon Kim, Oleinik explains what made the Ezekiel Choke special.
Oleinik then proceeds to demonstrate Ezekiel Choke and the rear-naked choke on Yeon Kim. On executing the Ezekiel Choke, Kim tapped in no time, while it took her a few seconds before she tapped to the rear-naked choke.
Oleinik then explains how effective it is since it cuts the blood flow.
Oleinik will be back in the Octagon this weekend. He will be co-headlining this weekend’s UFC on ESPN 26.
The Russian is set to take on Sergey Spivak. This will be his 76th professional MMA fight. However, he has been in a rough patch of late, after failing to win both of his last fights.
He is coming off a TKO loss against Chris Daukaus, earlier this year at UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs Lewis.
Spivak on the other hand, has been on a two-fight win streak. He is coming off a TKO win over Jared Vanderaa, the same night Oleinik lost to Daukaus.
