Brad Riddell is expected to face Rafael Fiziev at UFC Fight Night in December, later this year
An important lightweight matchup is lined up for December this year, as Brad Riddell and Rafael Fiziev are set to square off at UFC Fight Night on the 4th of December.
The news was first reported by Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie, and was later picked up by several media outlets.
Fiziev and Riddell are ranked close to each other. While the Kazakh, Fiziev is ranked number 13, the Kiwi is just a rank ahead of him at number 12.
Fiziev is coming off a unanimous decision win over Bobby Green at UFC 265. He is currently on a four-fight winning streak, with his last and only career defeat coming against Magomed Mustafaev at UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs Oleinik, back in April 2019.
Riddell, on the other hand, is coming off a win over Drew Dober at UFC 263. The tough-as-nails New Zealander has never been knocked out in his career. He is currently on a seven-fight win streak, with his last defeat coming way back in July 2018.
The world knows what to expect when Riddell and Fiziev square off. The explosive lightweights are certain to take the entire fight to the center of the Octagon.
Realizing the sheer magnitude of the fight, UFC Featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski reacted to the fight announcement.
He dropped a couple of flame emojis on MMA Junkie’s Tweet of the same.
As for Volk, he is set to take on Brian Ortega at UFC 266, on the 25th of September.
