Henry Cejudo seems keen on facing Floyd Mayweather Jr
Former UFC two-division Champion Henry Cejudo seems to have some big plans on his mind with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Triple C as Cejudo is called retired from the UFC after defeating Dominick Cruz and keeping the Bantamweight title.
The Olympic gold medallist has kept himself busy by making appearances on AEW and other promotions. However, a return to the UFC seems to be out of the question for now.
Cejudo has hit out at current champion Aljamain Sterling and former Bantamweight champion Petr Yan. He recently opened up on a return to the UFC but only if the right money was paid to him.
However, Cejudo might have just hit the jackpot, or at least he is making it seem so. Triple C posted a photo of him facing off against Floyd Mayweather Jr and claimed more details of the fight would be shared soon.
Mayweather is one of the richest men in the world and all of his boxing fights are money. He defeated Conor McGregor in a boxing match a few years back and reports suggested that Mayweather made $280million while the UFC star made $130m.
Mayweather fighting anyone is a guaranteed payday, especially if it is a boxing match, and it seems Cejudo is ready to bring in the bucks.
Olympian vs Olympian
Cejudo and Mayweather both were Olympians but Cejudo got a gold while Mayweather could only win a bronze.
Ali Abdelaziz brought up a nickname for the two fighters taking each other on. The MMA manager claimed that Mayweather was the best ever while Cejudo was Triple C:
Cejudo might be one of the greatest combat sports athletes ever but it will be interesting to see if the match against Mayweather is a boxing one.
Mayweather is the best in that and defeating him in boxing is next to impossible. However, Cejudo, as is his character, seems to be confident and brought up his gold medal compared to the boxer鈥檚 bronze.
Either way, this is a big win for Cejudo if he gets the fight. Fighting Mayweather not only brings a huge payday but also a lot of attention, something that Cejudo craves and enjoys.
