Ali Abdelaziz also claimed Kamaru Usman would go easy on Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor vs Jorge Masvidal is in doubts again but Ali Abdelaziz has another fight in mind for the Irishman.
Masvidal was to fight Kamaru Usman for the UFC Welterweight title. However, the BMF Champion then had his eyes set on McGregor.
Dana White also suggested that fight could take place but those plans seem to be changing again. Masvidal responded to Nate Diaz calling himself the “baddest mother******” and claimed he would “beg to differ.”
Diaz and Masvidal faced off for the BMF title and it seems Gamebred wants another crack at his rival.
That would put McGregor without a fight but Abdelaziz claimed another title opportunity would be available for the Irishman.
Usman needs a rival for the belt and Abdelaziz added that the champion would take it easy on McGregor early on:
“It looks like #1 contender wants to fight Nate Diaz now . Good for him
“@TheNotoriousMMA hey you want a title shot ? Come to daddy
“@USMAN84kg will give you one and he promise first 2 rounds without takedowns only slaps”
Abdelaziz has made it a habit of taking shots at McGregor, and this is the latest in a long line of hits on the Irishman.
Tough choices for UFC
Masvidal vs Diaz for the BMF belt was one of the most anticipated title clashes and Gamebred came out on top thanks to a doctor’s stoppage.
However, a rematch would certainly get a lot of people interested and this could be a huge moneymaker for the UFC.
McGregor, for his part, hasn’t faced anyone since defeating Donald Cerrone at UFC 246. The Irishman is unlikely to fight in the Lightweight division as Justin Gaethje vs Khabib will take place for the undisputed title.
McGregor is still one of the biggest draws in the UFC and it will be interesting to see if this clash become a reality.
