Daniel Cormier and Khabib Nurmagomedov have teased a potential basketball match in the past
Ali Abdelaziz predicted his winner in a basketball match between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Daniel Cormier.
Both are former UFC champions and Khabib recently retired from the promotion too. DC, as Cormier is called, is close friends with the Russian and has been asked about a basketball match in the past.
Khabib has played Dagestani basketball in the past and this is a different sport to the regular NBA games.
The game is more rough, has less dribbling and it is mostly a skirmish. Cormier tried his hand in the game and was left with some tackles to deal with.
Khabib also is a great footballer, or so it seems. He has watched a lot of football games since retiring and has played in several charity games.
Manel Kape isn’t so sure of Khabib’s onfield skills but Abdelaziz seems to know something about The Eagle.
Abdelaziz wanted his followers to ask him questions about Khabib’s legacy.
Tony Mui of Complex asked Abdelaziz who would win in a basketball game of 21.
Abdelaziz, without missing a beat backed Khabib to beat DC and also brought up the possibility of an injury too:
“Khabib all day Maybe give him injure”
This probably was a bit of a job as a proper game of basketball should see DC win. Khabib’s Dagestan ball doesn’t seem to have too many rules and it was probably made to toughen up the players.
Khabib has been enjoying his time after retiring but he isn’t done with the sport. The Russian has been training a lot of his relatives and friends and it will be interesting to see if he is in their corner for UFC 260.
Abubakar Nurmagomedov, Khabib’s cousin, will be fighting this weekend. Khabib has been training him and Abubakar would be looking to get his first UFC win.
The Eagle was sitting next to Dana White in the previous event and he had one hilarious moment with Kevin Holland too.
