Ali Abdelaziz wants Tony Ferguson to take on Islam Makhachev and is willing to throw in an obscene amount of money

Ali Abdelaziz won’t go down without setting up Tony Ferguson vs Islam Makhachev.

The head of MMA Dominance is known for his Twitter game and has been egging Ferguson to take up this fight.

Abdelaziz had called out Ferguson a while to take up the Islam challenge and even claimed that the 29-year-old Dagestani star is the closest thing to Khabib.

Islam is 18-1 in his MMA career but is looking for a new fight. He was to face Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 254 but those plans were put to rest after the Brazilian tested positive for Covid-19.

Makhachev has called out UFC new signing Michael Chandler but a clash against Ferguson would be great too.

El Cucuy has wanted to fight Khabib for a long time but that clash doesn’t seem to be happening. However, Abdelaziz was willing to give $100,000 more to Ferguson if he took up the Islam fight.

The Egyptian also tweeted the same and even suggested this was a sign of respect he had for Ferguson:

Ferguson to make his comeback?

Ferguson hasn’t fought since losing to Justin Gaethje at UFC 249. The American was taken to task by Gaethje in the interim UFC Lightweight clash but he is keen on making a return.

Ferguson was to fight Dustin Poirier later in the year. However, that fight fell through since the UFC didn’t want to meet Poirier’s pay demands.

Ferguson also backed Poirier in his demands but was taken out of the clash too. It will be interesting to see what is next for Islam and Ferguson.

A clash between the pair would be a fun fight, and could help Islam or Ferguson move up the rankings too.
