Kamaru Usman doesn’t look like he will fight number one ranked welterweight Colby Covington next
Kamaru Usman has conquered the welterweight division to the fullest. If not, almost. Barring a few top names he has eased past everyone he has fought in the promotion.
However, number 1 ranked welterweight contender Colby Covington who lost to Usman at UFC 245, is determined to face-off again with the champ in a rematch.
Covington came really close to defeating Usman, but had his jaw broken in the final round of the fight and ended up getting TKOed.
Since he had finished ‘The Chaos’ – until this day, Usman doesn’t feel the need to rematch him.
Elsewhere, Usman’s manager Ali Abdelaziz hinted that Leon Edwards can probably fight Usman next. Highlighting the strong points of ‘The Brit’, Abdelaziz wrote:
“This world is crazy. The two guys who fought @USMAN84kg lately, one got their jaw broke and the second got knocked out cold in Florida. Nobody should be talking about what León should do next. Him and his team should be handling that. He hasn’t lost in 6 years and last 9 fights.”
Edwards recently beat Nate Diaz at UFC 263 via. unanimous decision to bring up his ninth consecutive victory in the UFC.
Leon Edwards’ last loss was against Kamaru Usman
Edwards hasn’t lost since December 2015. He has gone on a nine-fight win streak since then. So, who was his last loss against?
Edwards’ last loss came against Kamaru Usman, who was making his UFC debut. The Brit lost the fight via. unanimous decision.
While Usman surged all the way to the welterweight title, Edwards has slowly made his way up in the welterweight division.
