Tony Ferguson fights Michael Chandler at UFC 274
Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov still have a huge rivalry after their fight fell through.
The Lightweights were scheduled to fight five times but for one reason or another, it never happened. Ferguson has hit out at Khabib several times over a botched weight cut ahead of one of their fights and that has been Ali Abdelaziz hit out at El Cucuy.
Abdelaziz, Khabib’s manager, has attacked Ferguson and Conor McGregor several times on social media over the years. However, Abdelaziz actually had a different caption after Ferguson posted an image.
Abdelaziz claimed he was going to root for Ferguson ahead of a UFC 274 fight and even wished him the best ahead of the clash.
This certainly caught a few people off guard as the pair have not been on the best of terms over the years.
El Cucuy faces Michael Chandler in his next outing, and this won’t be easy. Chandler also is on a bit of a losing run but the former Bellator champion has been part of some incredible fights.
Ferguson, for his part, is on a three-fight losing streak. Losing a fourth fight would not be good for his career, and would almost certainly end his chances of ever fighting for a title.
One thing is certain. The fight is going to be something special for sure. Both love to stand and bang, and that could take place across the three rounds at UFC 274.
Both Ferguson and Chandler need a win to snap their losing streak, and that adds another angle to this potential fight of the year.
