Ali Abdelaziz’s hilarious response to fasting Khabib Nurmagomedov’s call on greatest Bantamweight

Khabib Nurmagomedov had an interesting take on who the greatest Bantamweight was

Khabib Nurmagomedov had a surprise selection for the greatest Bantamweight star of all-time.

The UFC Lightweight Champion could not fight at UFC 249, but he had some great words for Dominick Cruz.

Cruz lost the title fight against Henry Cejudo, but the decision to stop the clash was controversial. Nevertheless, Cruz is a former Bantamweight champion and came back to the sport after a three-year break.

Cejudo, for his part, is an Olympic gold medalist has won UFC titles in two divisions. Khabib has spoken about Cejudo being the greatest MMA fighter, but he believed Cruz deserves some credit too.

Khabib’s suggestion that Cruz was the greatest Bantamweight star was met with some sarcasm. Ali Abdelaziz, who manages Cejudo and Khabib, told the Russian to go and eat suhoor.

Khabib is fasting during the month of Ramadan and won’t be in action for a while. Suhoor is the time of day you can eat before starting the fast, and Abdelaziz also listed out who all Cejudo had beaten during his time in the UFC.

Surprised by retirement

There was more to come from Cejudo in the post-fight conference. The American claimed he was retiring from the UFC as he had achieved a lot and has a family to take care off too.

That caught many off-guard with some suggesting this was a tactic to negotiate a better deal. However, Abdelaziz claimed he knew nothing about this call from his client and said no one could match what Cejudo had done:

It will be interesting to see what happens next with Cejudo but Khabib has other things to worry about too. Justin Gaethje defeated Tony Ferguson to become the interim UFC Lightweight Champion.

This sets up a clash between Gaethje and Khabib, and the funny thing is that Abdelaziz manages both the Lightweight stars too.
