Petr Yan vs Aljamain Sterling is set to take place at UFC 256

The Funk Master, Aljamain Sterling, will get his hands on Petr Yan at UFC 256 and he is preparing hard for the title fight.

Sterling has had to fight hard in and outside the Octagon. Dana White didn’t seem all that keen to set up this fight after Yan defeated Jose Aldo to win the vacant Bantamweight title.

However, White relented and the fight will take place in the final PPV of the year. While Yan has been great too and open to fighting Sterling, the Funk Master opened up on what could be the difference in the battle.

He was speaking on Twitter and highlighted that cardio could be the key, given than this is going to be a five-round fight.

The other factor he named was who wanted it the most. Yan, as Sterling said, was a tough fight but the Funk Master seems keen to finally land the UFC belt.

Getting ready for a long fight

Sterling also posted a video of him working out in the Octagon. The 31-year-old claimed this was the fifth round of the training sessions and he could be ready for the long haul.

Sterling is on an incredible five-fight win streak and has wins over some top stars. The Funk Master last defeated Cory Sandhagen with an impressive rear-naked choke and he also has wins over Pedro Munhoz, Jimmie Rivera and Cody Stamann.

Yan too has been great since coming to the UFC and it will be interesting to see how UFC 256 goes. There were a few other title fights to end the year on a bang but champions Kamaru Usman and Amanda Nunes pulled out with injuries.
