Anderson Silva is set to take on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a professional boxing match next month
One look at Anderson Silva, and you wouldn’t probably realize he is 46.
The Brazilian MMA legend looks to be in the shape of his life, as he has been training seriously for his professional boxing bout against Mexican, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Silva was released from the UFC, only last year. ‘Spider’ had lost to Uriah Hall in October 2020. He had a poor run of form, having won only 1 of his last nine fights.
Despite being released from the UFC, Silva revealed that he was not done with the sport of MMA.
In the latest training video, Silva can be seen exhibiting excellent speed while sparring and training with his coach. He can also be seen killing it, at the speed bag.
Silva’s fight against Cesar Chavez will be a 10 round professional boxing bout. It is set to take place on the 19th of June, this year at the Estadio Jalisco, Guadalajara, Mexico.
Anderson Silva’s boxing debut dates back to 1998
This will not be Anderson Silva’s first pro-boxing fight. The Brazilian legend made his debut way back in 1998.
He took on fellow Brazilian, Osmar Luiz Teixeira and lost the fight in the very first round, due to retirement.
7 years later, he fought in his second professional boxing bout. This time he emerged victorious, beating Julio Cesar de Jesus via knockout in the 2nd round.
And, after a long gap of 16 years, he is set to enter his third professional fight and looks to be in good condition and shape.
