Anthony Pettis is a former UFC Champion and is open to being part of the Hall of Fame
Former UFC champion Anthony Pettis recently joined PFL after a long and glorious career.
While he isn’t done with fighting and believes a title run is in the offering in the PFL, many fans were left shocked with this decision.
Pettis, a former UFC and WEC Lightweight Champion and beat several big names in the UFC. He has wins over Donald Cerrone, Benson Henderson and Charles Oliveira.
He ended his UFC career with a couple of wins and didn’t renew his deal with the promotion. Showtime, as Pettis is called, currently holds a record of 24 wins and 10 losses but believes he might have done enough to get another UFC accolade.
Hall of Fame calling?
Pettis was one of the men responsible for the growth of UFC during the early 2010s. The UFC has become a behemoth now but it wasn’t the same a decade back.
Pettis also had some absolute brawls during his UFC career and is backing talks of getting into the UFC Hall of Fame.
Showtime was ready for the Hall of Fame as his achievements were highlighted. He had 19 fights against top 15 stars in the division, was the first UFC star on a cereal box and even had that one great Showtime Kick moment.
Not to forget, he was a champion on WEC and in the UFC too and still has something to offer.
The Hall of Fame is a great honour and many current stars can put their name in the hat for that inclusion.
It will be interesting to see if Pettis is included into the Hall of Fame though. He had a lot of great words for Dana White and the UFC as he left the promotion, but his MMA journey is far from ending.
