Anthony Smith gives his prediction for Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier 3

A number of fighters have begun giving their prediction for Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier trilogy fight

McGregor will fight it out against Poirier in the main event of UFC 264 on the 10th of July. The showdown is hardly three weeks away.

Both the fighters will be looking forward to settling their scores with the scoreline currently leading 1-1.

It was ‘The Notorious’ who gained the upper hand when he beat Poirier at UFC 178 via. a first round TKO win. 76 months later Poirier exacted revenge by knocking McGregor and assert his claim as the number one contender.

A few months after UFC 257, McGregor vs Poirier was officially confirmed.

In a recent interview with James Lynch, UFC light-heavyweight Anthony Smith gave his prediction for the McGregor-Poirier trilogy.

Despite revealing that he was a big McGregor fan, he tipped Poirier to emerge victorious.

He was quoted as saying:

Anthony Smith recently won a light-heavyweight contest against James Krause at UFC 261. He is currently ranked number 6 in the light-heavyweight rankings.

McGregor has been straining every nerve and sinew in a bid to chase legacy and greatness, come the 10th of July.

He has been showing off his efforts on social media quite often. ‘The Notorious’ recently took to Twitter to display his incredible boxing skills. The Irishman depicted insanely-quick hands on a heavy bag.

However, the Twitterati were more concerned about his approach against Poirier. They didn’t seem convinced with McGregor’s boxing going a long way in helping him beat Poirier in the trilogy bout.
