Ariel Helwani believed that Jon Jones lost his fight to Dominick Reyes at UFC 247

MMA reporter Ariel Helwani was speaking on which UFC stars have the leverage on Dana White.

Many stars have spoken out about leaving the UFC, and Henry Cejudo already has. However, some have more leverage on White when compared to others.

Helwani was speaking about Jon Jones and the fact that the Light Heavyweight champion has also spoken about getting released.

Jones also wanted to face Francis Ngannou in a Heavyweight fight, which was turned down. However, Helwani claimed that there are some rumours going on about Jones’ time coming to an end:

“He has leverage because he’s the light heavyweight champion of the UFC, you know. There is a theory out there that he’s becoming very vocal right now because he knows that maybe the end is in the air maybe he doesn’t want to fight as much in the near future.”

Helwani then spoke about the controversial clash against Dominick Reyes, which many, including him, believed that Jones actually lost:

“I think he lost his last fight against Dominick Reyes.”

More leverage than McGregor

The other two fighters that were being checked up were Conor McGregor and Henry Cejudo. Helwani ended up saying that Jones has more leverage than McGregor or Cejudo on White simply because he holds a belt now and is one of the greatest ever.

It will be interesting to see how things develop with Jones. The UFC has already lost Cejudo, the Bantamweight champion, who is now appearing on AEW and wants to fight a boxer.

McGregor retired shockingly after UFC 250 and claims he isn’t interested in the game anymore. Jones is considered as the greatest MMA fighter of all-time and losing him would be a blow too.

The Light Heavyweight champion wants a fight against Ngannou. However, he is 32 and doesn’t have too many top fights left in him.
